What Would I Look Like With a Beard?

To see what you might look like with a beard, upload a clear portrait and choose a style, upload a beard reference or describe the look. Generate a preview and compare it with the original. A beard simulator helps explore a shape and length; it cannot predict how your own facial hair will grow.

How to add a beard to your photo

See what you might look like with a beard. Choose a clear photo, compare stubble and beard styles, then review your AI preview before keeping it.

  1. Step 1. Upload your person photo

Choose one person with a visible chin and cheeks, even light and a front or slight three-quarter view. Upload JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 30 MB.

  2. Step 2. Choose a beard direction

Select one of eight style cards, upload your own beard reference or describe the look in Edit instructions. Templates and uploaded references are alternatives. You can remove a selected template; at least one style, active reference or written instruction is needed. Beard color matches your photo by default. To change it, specify a color in Edit instructions.

  3. Step 3. Generate a preview

Review the displayed credits and click Generate. Each submission creates one image. Loading an example only fills the form and does not start generation.

  4. Step 4. Compare and download

Inspect the beard, face, scalp hair and background. Use Re-edit to adjust the original inputs for another attempt, or download a result you like.

Choose a beard you can compare

Keep the same source photo when comparing styles. Change one detail at a time so the difference is easy to judge.

Beard shape starting points

Stubble
Light stubble for subtle coverage, or heavy stubble for a darker outline.
Visible skin and short individual hairs instead of a solid shadow.
Short boxed or full beard
A clipped cheek line for a boxed beard, or fuller cheeks and chin for a full beard.
The lower edge, sideburn connection and whether the face itself changed.
Goatee or circle beard
Goatee: chin only. Circle beard: moustache connected to the chin around the mouth.
Clean cheeks, lip edges and the requested moustache connection.
Anchor or ducktail
Anchor: narrow pointed chin and separate moustache. Ducktail: full beard with a longer tapered chin.
The width and length of the chin shape without stretching the jaw.

Edit instructions you can adapt

Subtle coverage
Add light brown stubble, about 2 mm long. Keep my face, hairstyle and expression unchanged.
The beard should stay close to the skin with a soft cheek boundary.
A precise outline
Add a short boxed beard with a neat neckline. Keep the cheeks lightly covered and preserve my glasses.
Check the cheek line, chin length and eyeglass frames.
A color adjustment
Use a salt-and-pepper full beard with more silver at the chin. Leave my scalp hair and eyebrows unchanged.
Compare the color transition and make sure the scalp hair was not recolored.

What to check in your beard preview

Review the full-size image beside your original. Small changes around the jaw, lips and sideburns can affect how natural the result looks.

Length and density
Look for a beard that is too thick, too long or flat like a painted patch.
Specify light stubble, a shorter chin or lower cheek density in Edit instructions.
Face and expression
Compare the jaw, nose, lips, skin texture and expression with the original.
Start from the original portrait and ask to keep facial proportions and expression unchanged.
Hair and accessories
Check that the scalp hairstyle, eyebrows, glasses and earrings have stayed in place.
Use a clear photo and name the detail to preserve; remove a conflicting reference.
Edges and color
Inspect cheek lines, the neckline and transitions beside the ears. Compare hair color under the original light.
Ask for softer edges or a specific color, and avoid a source with deep shadows over the lower face.

AI beard generator questions

What would I look like with a beard?

Upload your portrait and try a beard style to get a visual preview. Compare a few lengths from the same original photo. The result explores appearance; it does not predict your natural growth, coverage or density.

Do I have to choose a beard template?

No. You can upload a beard reference or describe the style in Edit instructions instead. A person photo and at least one active style, reference or instruction are required.

Are templates and uploaded references used together?

No. Choose one reference source. The template or uploaded image guides beard shape, length and density; your Person photo supplies identity and scene. By default, the edit preserves your existing beard color, or uses your scalp hair color if no beard is visible. To change the beard color, specify it in Edit instructions. Your scalp hair color should stay unchanged.

Can I change my existing beard or its color?

Yes. Describe the desired length, outline, density or color, or choose a reference. The tool targets facial hair. Review the result for unwanted changes to skin, lips or scalp hair.

Will the beard filter change my face or hairstyle?

The edit is instructed to preserve your face, expression, scalp hair, clothing and scene. Generative editing can still alter details, so compare the result before keeping it.

Is the AI beard generator free?

Generation requires a LumiYing account and uses the credits shown before Generate. Loading a template or example does not spend credits. See pricing for current plans.
